Finally, variable fonts are part of Semplice, making it easier than ever to customize your typography. And it’s free for all Semplice 5 family members.
Variable typefaces have been a highly-requested feature, so we’re excited to finally make it happen as a gift to our Semplice family.
If you’re unfamiliar with variable fonts, they allow you to make your typography exactly the width and weight you want it to be. Instead of being limited to the standard light, regular, medium and bold, you can find the perfect in-between that works for your design.
Even better, variable fonts come in one file that hold all the various widths and weights. Usually you’re buying each version of your typography and uploading it one file at a time. Now you simply drag & drop one file into Semplice. Move sliders to get the typeface just how you want it, and you’re done.
PRO TIP for our Semplice 5 family members: Once you’ve set your variable fonts, use them to create global styles to use across your site. Choose the perfect weight for your headlines, a different one for your subheads, and another fine-tuned version for your buttons. You can access these straight from your page as you build it, saving yourself tons of time and keeping everything consistent.
Typography is the foundation of every designer’s work, and Semplice has always made beautiful typography a priority. As type design has advanced in recent years, we’re proud to say Semplice is evolving with it.
